Description

Cultivation of the Big Bud Regular

Big Bud Regular cannabis seeds are 85% and 15% sativa. As such, plants have characteristics strongly dominated by the indica, both in appearance and effect.

The variety has an interesting story. It was originally cultivated in the United States, by a robust Afghana and a skunk plant. Thanks to its prolific crops, it quickly became a very popular commercial variety. Big Bud remained popular in the United States until the drug war forced the producers to smuggle it into the Netherlands, where it further settled.

After an important research, Sensi Seeds brought the Big Bud back to its roots, capturing the robustness and sweet aroma of the original. Now its genetics are characterized by Skunk #1 and Northern Lights - two well-established and popular varieties.

Feminized or autoflowering versions of Big Bud are available. However, this is a regular variant, ideal for those who want to produce their own seeds, or experience the production of different varieties. The plants have a relatively short flowering time of about 50-65 days. When grown outdoors, they are usually harvested from mid to late October.

Big Bud tends to grow at medium heights. Inside, plants can grow from 80 to 160 cm: good news for those living in a smaller house. Outside, the plants can reach heights from 180 to 200 cm, which can take a little more space.

This variety resistant to fungi and parasites is generally quite narrow in the structure, with less leaves than other cannabis plants, and huge buds. Most of these buds grow around the main stem, which makes the collection easier. But yield is what farmers really like. Inside, yields from 500 to 600 g/m2 are often reported, while outside can reach up to 800-1200 grams per plant.

It is reasonable to expect so many huge peaks with the Big Bud Regular. They are dense and heavy, so heavy in fact to come to break the branches on which they are growing if left without support. The tops are also covered with thick and bright resin, indicative of the strong effect that consumers can experience after harvesting.

The Big Bud flowers in warm and sunny climates, like the Mediterranean one. Alternatively, it can be cultivated throughout the year. It responds very well to supercropping and lollipopping.

Effect, taste and smell of the Big Bud Regular

The Big Bud Regular has a strong genetic indicates, and this heritage is evident at the time of consumption. Consumers can expect an effect on the whole body, sedative, with a touch of euphoria, thanks to the influence of sativa to 15%.

The variety is appreciated for its sweet aroma during growth, which some compare to the scent of melassa; sugar, with a hint of spices. Once the buds are collected, this smell is greatly intensified. The rich and sweet taste is also evident on the palate.
